Gateway Domestic Services
Gateway Domestic Violence Services (Gateway) has entered its fourth decade of service provision to victims of domestic violence who live within the City of Aurora and Arapahoe County. The development of Gateway was initiated in 1977 with the merger of two grassroots efforts–Aurora Community Mental Health Center’s Battered Women’s Shelter Project and the Arapahoe Battered Women’s Task Force.
In January 1979, the project received funding from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, Aurora Community Development, and CETA, in order to initiate operations. A nonprofit corporation, Aurora-Arapahoe Battered Women’s Shelter, Inc., was formed in February 1979, and the shelter opened for services on May 8, 1979, in a building donated by the City of Aurora.

Dumbs Friends League
The Dumb Friends League is an independent, local, nonprofit organization. We are not an affiliate of any national animal welfare organizations.Working with our compassionate community, we will end pet homelessness and animal suffering. When our organization was founded in 1910, it was named after a London, England, animal welfare group called “Our Dumb Friends League.”
In those days, the term “dumb” was widely used to refer to animals because they lacked the power of human speech. Today, the Dumb Friends League, headquartered in Denver, is the largest community-based animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain region—providing a strong, compassionate and steadfast voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
Save The Tigers Now
The government of Nepal recently announced that the country has nearly doubled its wild tiger population in the last eight years! This is great news, but our work to save tigers is far from done.
Your donation will:
• Protect tigers across critical sites in Nepal, Indonesia, and other priority landscapes
• Support rangers and strengthen enforcement to stop poaching in key protected areas
• Enhance investigations into the deadly illegal trade that is driving the killing of tigers
Save Tigers Now is a global campaign by World Wildlife Fund and Leonardo DiCaprio to build political, financial and public support to double the number of tigers in the wild by 2022, the next year of the tiger.
Together, we can preserve an icon of nature, and save wild tigers for future generations.
Save The Elephants Now
Though primarily based in Samburu National Reserve, Kenya, Save The Elephants Now have projects across Africa focussing on radio-tracking elephants and community conservation carrying out rigorous studies of elephants, including elephant collaring and more recently, sophisticated elephant tracking techniques. The mission of STE is to secure a future for elephants in harmony with people. Our rationale is to plan conservation of elephants and their environment through research on movements, ecology, and behavior, and through community programs, and to look at conservation from an elephant’s point of view which we do through our projects.
Child Protection and Development against Child Trafficking
Child victims of trafficking are recruited, transported, transferred, harbored or received for the purpose of exploitation. They may be forced to work in sweatshops, on construction sites or in houses as domestic servants; on the streets as child beggars, in wars as child soldiers, on farms, in traveling sales crews or in restaurants and hotels. Some are forced to work in brothels and strip clubs or for escort and massage services.
To Protect children from exploitation risk factors such as poverty and discrimination need to be addressed. UNICEF's efforts in countries around the world include:
Helping to provide a living wage for parents so that their children do not have to work to support the family and can attend school instead
Lobbying governments and other partners to develop laws and strengthen child protection systems to prevent and respond to violence and abuse
Advocating for the legal birth registration of all newborns
Working with communities and faith-based organizations to change harmful societal norms that make children more vulnerable to exploitation
Supporting the training of professionals working with children including social workers, health workers and police and border officials to help stop trafficking
